Reporting from Startup farm again. Has been a struggle with increasing temps and receding  water source (tubewell). Staring at severe drought in coming months. While some of the saplings are drought tolerant, most are not. And even the ones that are, are barely a year old.

Its a flat 1 acreage, hardly any contours. So can't do much of swaling. I do have few bunds created at regular intervals. For shade trees, have planted quite a few supporting NFT (nitrogen fixing trees), but they are rarely surviving due to lack of water.

Are you constructing any swales and planting some shade trees?  This looks daunting but I’ve seen amazing transformations!

Under normal circumstances, water would be available through mobile water tankers at a cost. Given that we have had one of the driest monsoon in decades, their availability has gone scarce and the costs have sky rocketed.
