I also don't get it. Only benefit I can see it having is artificially raising the number of buys but anyone who actually trades meme coins is going to ignore that anyway - why? because all meme coins have bots buying and selling their coins. ALL of them. Meme mechanics are attention-based, so getting people's attention is paramount.
