I just installed the unhook extension to reduce YouTube distractions..

- Removes Shorts / Recommendations on home page
- Option to replace home with subscriptions feed

Finally, after years, my YT home page again contains content only from channels that I have subscribed to

I'd pay to remove shorts from the mobile app.  I can't stand shorts displaying
1. I can't play them in the background
2. I can't keep my 1.5x playback screen

Mobile YT is my primary "podcasting" app and it gets a couple hours a day during walks and exercises

I bit the bullet and removed the mobile app a year ago. This was frustrating for a few weeks, and then I was using YT in the browser for a while...and now I don't use YT on my phone much at all
