is it me or was all the good sci-fi written in the 1940s-80s? who are some of the best sci-fi writers currently creating their best work?

Note there's a huge gap between "scifi written in 40s-80s" and "writers creating their best work now"

haven't read Card since the Enderverse, think that was older? wikipedia says 1977 for Enders Game
