Interesting shift with Rodeo switching from running on ETH to running on USD!

I'm guessing it's something that could be less confusing to new users who aren't as onchain familiar?

What do you think of the change?

Very well said! And totally agree. Getting them onboard with simple USD and then having a wallet, call it whatever you want, that they own, is an interesting flow.

Will be curious to see how many apps etc all have their own email based individual wallet vs having a more common external used walled, similar to what we have seen happening with early mini apps pre-warplet. 

I can see it being helpful for things that don't want to constantly be asking for permission

That's a really smart move because if you want to attract more people onchain from the traditional web2 world, the biggest initial hurdle for them is their existing habits. I mean, if someone has always paid in dollars, suddenly needing ETH can be too much for newcomers. Before these individuals develop new habits from the crypto world, we need to give them time to adjust and learn about this space. Additionally, entering the blockchain world requires learning so many tools, like different wallets, etc. There's definitely a way to make all of this simpler. In short, first accustom new users but do not scare them, and only then allow them to develop.
