This is a great Onchain Security piece by @cassie in regards to Cold Storage vs "Cold Storage" & the Bybit hack. Defs worth reading if you're into taking your asset security serious & depending on the scale/scope of your operation/organization/etc. "The important distinction, is that for the operations of a cryptocurrency exchange, if they are following neither definition 1 nor 2, but a less strict definition (3-5), it is reasonable and fair to argue that their "cold" custody is not actually cold, is not actually safe for billions of dollars of crypto assets, and regardless of how this is compromised, they deserve blame for mishandling customer funds." https://x.com/cass_on_mars/status/1894915387805884565 Thank you @samuellhuber.eth for putting it on my radar π«‘
