This is a great history of the digital age if technology makes your heart sing — it starts with Babbage & Ada Lovelace, covers the invention of the computer, transistor, microchip, the internet, personal computer, software, and ends with the web up to and including Google. Terrific writing by Walter Isaacson too.

I enjoyed it. I'm no expert on the advent of computers, so was a good overview for someone like me. Not sure if it offers anything new if you're already an expert on the topic. Actually got to interview Isaacson about it for an article ahead of a talk he was giving in my city; got him to sign my copy when he was here.
