Human emotions, and especially love applied to sentient machines, are a fascinating topic and relatively well explored in science fiction. 

This is particularly true in literature, though there are also great examples on screen, such as Ex Machina or the excellent series Humans, as well as the original Äkta människor. 

Companion plays with the same theme but takes a different approach: black comedy. In any case, it’s best to go into the film without knowing too much, as it gradually reveals its cards.

 Interesting, highly entertaining, and featuring strong performances from most of the cast.
