Because of RL, I haven't been able to introduce myself sooner, πŸ™ so I made a short video with some of my work to do it. I'm Yatima which it's not my real name, and I'm not a girl πŸ˜… . I live in Spain, and out there I work in VFX. In here, I do whatever I like to have fun, mostly 3D animation using simulations as a base. Music credits are "Tormenta Mental" by LΓΏ & Sersoul. Beautiful song. πŸ–€ If you don’t mind, I’d also love to hold a little contest for those watching this cast who are already familiar with my work. In the video, there’s a snippet from a piece I’ve never shown before. I’s the only one not for sale, and in fact, it’s not even finished. 500 DEGEN to whoever can tell me which one it is. 😁 πŸ–€

The "Guru Meditation" error is one of the most iconic in the history of computing. It originally appeared as an error message in the AmigaOS. This error occurred when the system encountered a critical condition it couldn’t handle, similar to a BSOD in Windows or a kernel panic in Linux. The name comes from an inside joke among the Amiga developers. Jay Miner and his team used a device called the "Joyboard" (a sort of predecessor to the Wii Balance Board) to relax and "meditate" at the office. The Joyboard was a peripheral originally designed for the Atari 2600, allowing games to be controlled by body balance. However, the Amiga developers began using it humorously, trying to stay perfectly still while balancing on it. If they failed and lost their balance, they joked about having lost their "meditation." When the system engineers created a critical error message for AmigaOS, they decided to call it Guru Meditation as a joke referencing this failed relaxation activity.

One lesson I've learned on Warpcast, which I didn't apply on X when sharing my work (thanks in part to a very interesting conversation with @sashelka) is to avoid post'n'run. In short, to talk more about my work. 'Interzone' is partly inspired by that brilliant novel by Stanislaw Lem, Solaris. A sort of 'what if' someone built a bridge for a tourist visit over the sentient planet or something like that πŸ˜… . It’s not like I had that idea in mind while making it (not in a concrete way) but deep down, there was something of that in it. fyc @claireujma @milibooo @midnightmarauder.eth

I firmly believe that one of the keys to /success is tackling problems with a bit of creativity and a sense of humor. This is an ad from the British division of my phone company showing a wonderful method they've invented to deal with those damn scammers. The good AI grandma is absolutely priceless. Not so long ago I was on a live concert having fun with my partner and uddenly I noticed that a pretty important section of the audience wasn't really there. The screens of their phones were their focus. I got really scared. This is coming from someone who prays to that monster that makes you sweat when you have nightmares, so it’s no small thing. πŸ˜… πŸ–€ @ifiwasfrank @midnightmarauder.eth @milibooo btw, there's still 4 copies available for 0.15$SOL https://exchange.art/editions/CnbxHdQBtqJRQt72QPEhLd3pM1xn5JJ8esB1WvTcb2yy

Let me tell you a story. This image is based on one of the last photographs of British explorer Henry Worsley, a great admirer of Ernest Shackleton. At 48, along with a small team, he recreated Shackleton's 1907 expedition to the South Pole, though they didn’t reach their goal. Did he stop there? Not at all. In 2015, at the age of 55, he decided to cross Antarctica on foot and solo. After covering 1,500 km (900 miles) and getting very close to his objective, he had to be evacuated due to peritonitis. As a tribute, I created this, starting with a simple cube, step by step, over the course of an entire month, adding detail after detail. I know that nowadays an AI could do it in three minutes, and probably better, but the journey and everything I learned along the way are irreplaceable. 'The Last Journey'

A quite remarkable feature of simulations, whether they involve particles, volumes, or any other type, is that they’re very hard to control 100%. With that raw material, thinking about loops is pure madness, but you never know until you try. After literally hundreds of failed attempts, one day I finally figured out the right technique. It’s not talent, it’s sheer stubbornness. πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ For your consideration, @milibooo @midnightmarauder.eth @edurubio 'You look good in leather'

Excerpt from the legendary β€œDesert Dreams” Released in 1993. May not look very impressive today, but it runs on an Amiga 500+, in real time, with a 7.14Mhz CPU and 1Mb of RAM. The music still rocks! 🀘
