After five days of experimenting with a new model for releasing work: — 225 of 250 editions collected — Collectors on track to pay $1,000+ (release is pay what you want) This is the most money I've ever been paid for a piece of writing (other than books) https://darkforest.metalabel.com/postindividual

awesome, can't wait to digest it all! May I ask: why fiat/stripe and not on crypto rails? Or did I miss sth? This created > friction to my onchain life and with a release on Metalabel I'd assumed to pay with my wallet and get it dropped via NFT. Just some kind yet candid feedback. Chuffed for your success!

Metalabel's mission is to help creative people co-release and collect creative work We started off exploring crypto but it was always our minor not our major We moved to a different set of decentralized rails last year (Decentralized Identifiers + public APIs) that are v consumer friendly and longterm modular

I think that will change with time but it's not our fight We see a better way for creative people to work. We figured out new ways to do earnings splits, portable output, and all kinds of crypto-like things without crypto rails to help do it Longterm these paths may converge but creative work is our major, not crypto

The way we're built we can plug back into the onchain world whenever and however our community needs it. I won't be surprised if/when that happens
