🐺 To recap, Starknet is a validity Rollup, or 'zk rollup', launched in Alpha mode in November 2021. It extends Ether through a cryptographic protocol called STARK without compromising Ether's core principles: breadth (i.e., 'decentralization'), transparency, inclusiveness, and security. 
🐺 Starknet tokens enable those who contribute to the success of the ecosystem to participate in the governance, ongoing operation, and security maintenance of Starknet. tokens are used for governance, to pay for Starknet transaction fees, and to participate in Starknet's consensus mechanism.
