It's AMA time. Sorry, just a few minutes late getting myself settled in here. I've got a nice cold compression cycle running on my knee for the next 30 minutes, so I'm here for any questions you might have about the images I've shared today, or photography in general.

I learned to take macros, but the results were never satisfactory 😆 https://rodeo.club/post/0x98009E90549a4514AA1ab5AAc56dfd912eA826c8/1

This is with a smartphone? That’s impressive… I think one of the things to remember when we are learning is that we won’t necessarily see immediate results to match people that have spent years or decades honing their craft. It is good to be able to recognize the good in what you’ve done and to continue to push forward to learn. At the end of the day, there may not be a trick to get the results you want, but an investment of time and eventually in the gear that gets you there. When I took wildlife shots with my first DSLR (a Nikon D200 and a superzoom 18-200mm VRII), I got some images I am very proud of. However, there were limitations to my knowledge and gear. Some of the shots I get today, I simply could not capture with that gear, and that’s with everything I have learned over the last 15-20 years too.
