Onchain art isn’t binary; it’s spectrum. It feels disingenuous to reduce all the efforts made in this medium as moot by a *proposal*.

Some people genuinely care about trading more than tokenized pointers to web servers with domains set to expire in a year.

I can't see Ethereum adopting any changes that would cause parts of the current state to disappear. They can't just erase old wallets, for example. 

Vitalik is talking about pruning data that is no longer current. If you know your wallet balance today, last year's balance is less important.
