Smart contract byte code =/= Call data =/= Event data Onchain art isn’t binary; it’s spectrum. It feels disingenuous to reduce all the efforts made in this medium as moot by a *proposal*. Some people genuinely care about trading more than tokenized pointers to web servers with domains set to expire in a year.

Predictions: - History expiry happens - State expiry doesn't—at least *not in a way that bricks contracts* Main thing being the last point. IMO, unstoppable apps/hyperstructures are pretty core to the philosophy of this whole thing, I don't see them going away.

I can't see Ethereum adopting any changes that would cause parts of the current state to disappear. They can't just erase old wallets, for example. Vitalik is talking about pruning data that is no longer current. If you know your wallet balance today, last year's balance is less important.

How would literal solidity contracts be bricked even? Maybe I'm being unimaginative but if solidity-generated on-chain art can be expired, then any contract can be expired.
