Help me navigate the cognitive dissonance here I wouldn’t buy at this price Yet I wouldn’t sell either, which implies that I’m bullish on price and not expecting any imminent opportunity to buy much lower Opportunity cost still feels cognitively different from using fresh gunpowder directly

You are simply buying at this price. Any day you didn’t sell your ETH, you decided buying it.

Yes! That’s exactly the cognitive dissonance I was referring to. Somehow, “not selling” and “buying” are functionally identical, yet feel different.

You can remove the dissonance by applying the regret minimization framework.

That’s great advice. I can handle an unrealized loss while holding a bag much better than I can handle selling too early and watching the asset rocket away from me. So the path to least regret is to not sell
