Yes, one has your identity and one has money. We have a recovery system for identity one (think password reset in web2). That works for identity but not for money. So, for now, we have two.

Yes. The "custody address" is rarely used and not usually the one you want. If you want to know the user's wallet, you want their "connected addresses" or "verified addresses," which are different, and there may be more than one. Depending on what you want to do with this address I can help tell you which one to use. We are shipping a change imminently that will let you set a single "preferred address" and simplify all this.
