X post from @flynn.eth, who may know more about airdrops than anyone else in the space. change my mind: current one-click mint frames are just airdrops, not value drivers. their distribution is just another flavor of TVL, not LTV. and if airdrops don’t “work”, why should we expect one-click mint frames to?

this is a very user hostile take. any crypto project will tell you that an airdrop is the #1 user requested feature. people like airdrops as they are a crypto native incentive mechanism. people like mints as they are crypto native attestations of presence. the builder's job is to use these tools to create retention

yes, all of the early users will request “airdrop” and ask “wen token”. i would tell every single crypto project to ignore those users and ignore the request. why? bc they will dump and move onto the next early project ASAP. if your project isn’t valuable without a token, your project isn’t valuable.
