So, when the prestigious Philharmonie de Paris hosted the “Basquiat Soundtracks” exhibition and invited Chassol to create a special performance for the occasion, the French jazz pianist seized the opportunity to blend both worlds through the glance of a child. 🧵

To make his creation happen, Chassol turned to his signature production, the “ultrascore”—a method of composing music directly from recorded voices and images. Here, the raw material came from videos of his son and nephews reacting to “Action Comics,” one of Basquiat’s paintings inspired by superheroes.
