You're right, and at the end of the day, we have countless examples of people not *actually* caring about these things - especially as more time passes. 1. Invention of calculators: People were unhappy, thinking it would make people dumber to depend on a machine 2. Craft: wooden spoons made in China or from Etsy. etc.

Maybe, but you're thinking of a future where Solar doesn't improve. Think computer chips. In the 1940's, you might have said a similar thing about the practicality of computers being in everyone bedrooms, and taken on trains, and slipped into a pants pocket. The tech will improve. That said, do your ideas also not stem from interactions with others and experiences you draw from externally? It is said that we cannot conjure a truly 'original' thought or idea. It is impossible for us to do. So, in a way, we function just as the AI does through its complex process of combining ideas, no?
