engagement tokens tokens mineable by engagement on farcaster - assign every faracaster user a rank using @openrank. seed it with people you value - distribute tokens on daily / weekly cadence for posting - rewards are based on engagement weighted by the user rank - attach a funny meme, build a cult, profit essentially proof of work distribution but based on social signal rather than computing power

Sounds like a few characteristics from the abandoned amps idea. When hubs are rewritten (when polymarket on that? 😆), something like an amp ‘token’ should be baked in. Keep pulling this thread!

I think it was an idea being socialized between FIP-2 and FIP-3 (Links) going from memory. The idea was essentially to not have Follows in the protocol. I recall advocating for a type of token system that gave users every epoch (day, week ...) an amp which users, by reacting/liking, handed out. The network's biggest giver's would rise to to the top.. there was more thinking here but I'm not recalling all of it. I think v put something forward like this but the community of devs were overwhelmingly pro traditional follows. The concept never made it to FIP iirc. I saw it as an opportunity to clearly differentiate FC from Bird app & bake in a future token mechanism that rewards the networks biggest givers. S / D = AF (abundance factor) use that & size of network at each epoch to come up witth GI (giving index). @marknadal had published a whitepaper on this & gave a talk years ago. Inspirational stuff.
