Funny, I hate the whole concept of tipping. And now I’m tipping people just to say thanks for being my friends. This feels a bit weird. just tipped my favorite farcasters! thank you @depatchedmode @beecurious @azbest @jtgi @aferg.eth for being here :)

thanks for the feedback — how do you feel about this implementation? would changing the name from "tips" to something like "kudos" help? idea is that it's less about the value of the money, more about the positive energy amplified by having money attached to it

It’s not an easy question to answer. I bring this idea to the real world. I would never give tip a friend irl for no reason. I tip servers, baristas, etc. Folks who offer a service. A tip is a transaction and I don’t often transact with friends. Venmo is the closest thing and that’s because they paid for something and I’m paying them back. I think where I struggle with crypto is the need to give every act (or no act) monetary value. The act has to be substantiated by doing something extraordinary. Or doing something of value. Someone writing a thought-provoking blog post for example. Perhaps a cast can be this, hence $degen. Maybe “kudos” works or “cheers” or even “+1” where the 1 is USDC rather than just an upvote. I’m a tough person to ask here because I’m having a general crisis with regards to transacting online in a way I never would irl.
