The Ferrari Mondial 8, introduced in 1980, was a mid-engined V8 grand tourer designed for practicality and performance. Named after Ferrari's Formula 1 championship victories, it featured a sleek Pininfarina design with 2+2 seating, making it more versatile than most Ferraris of its time. Powered by a 3.0-liter V8 engine producing around 214 horsepower, the Mondial 8 was equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, a first for Ferrari, ensuring better efficiency and emissions. Though not the fastest Ferrari, it offered a balanced driving experience. Its spacious interior and improved reliability attracted a broader audience. Despite some criticism for its performance compared to Ferrari’s earlier models, the Mondial 8 remains a classic symbol of 1980s automotive engineering. It paved the way for later Mondial variants with enhanced power and design. Today, it's cherished for its unique place in Ferrari’s history.
