The digital art market has had big wins, but let’s be real, only a small group is benefiting while most creators fight for scraps. We won’t onboard more artists without attracting more collectors, and right now, there’s little incentive for traditional buyers to join.

Three major art marketplaces have shut down in six months. Those still standing must rethink product-market fit—not just for now, but for the next cycle.

Zora’s latest update turns posts into tradable coins. Instead of editions, you’re buying into a piece and receiving tokens. Maybe they’ll have value, maybe not—but for once, virality could actually reward creators. Believe in an artist? Grab more tokens. Think they’ll blow up? Speculate and earn.

could create some interesting dynamics if each account had their own coin on zora and all artwork was denominated in it. all eth used for minting @ccarella.eth art could market buy his coin. allows new mints to increase the total value of an artists brand vs dilute it

This is a good idea and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it. Zora’s last micro experiment were those coin tags which essentially did just this.
