Tips for getting dogs to take meds appreciated 🙏

Sounds gross but my vet showed me to just stick it down their throat with my index finger. There’s a “point of no return”

Retired finance exec/old dad. Former H & Q, SF. Cannabis grower and hash maker. Dog lover. Old music only.  

The finger method is easy after you do it a few times you get the hang of it. I like pretty much springing it on them without a lot of preamble. I had difficulty with my dog taking pills and asked the vet, ‘how do u do it?’ She said ‘we just push it down their throats’

Interesting. We are considering a ‘pill gun’ which does that sort of thing.

Using venison has kinda been working but she must smell or toast the coating on one of the meds. Not a fun process
