Wine and snowboarding, sometimes at the same time.

In about 2003 standing on a craggy Tintagel rockface with it blowing a gale. A Kestrel was about 5 metres across from me riding the updraft as it hunted. I was so close I could see the small feathers on the upper wings being ruffled every time a gust blew in. Incredible.

2. Harvest time in my early teens. Young swifts would hunt over the crop and occasionally crash and not be able to take off again. We found one poor soul who was really tired. Took it home, warmed it up and fed it some honey water  till it was stronger and then re-launched it later that day. Such a wonderful feeling.
