What is Account Abstraction? EIP-2938 has a simple definition > Account abstraction (AA) allows a contract to be the top-level account that pays fees and starts transaction execution. ERC-4337 enables this, but sort of fudges the "starts transaction execution" part. Practically, yes. But not at the protocol level.

Importantly EIP-3074 does *not* enable this. You still need funded EOAs to start transactions, and EIP-3074 says nothing about creating meta transactions to allow for true AA. Which is the point of ERC-4337 https://x.com/VitalikButerin/status/1576199517434949634?s=20
