What did you think of Marc Andreessen's Techno-Optimist Manifesto? How you would frame crypto's relationship an optimistic, accelerationist outlook? https://a16z.com/the-techno-optimist-manifesto/

There's a lot I agree with - namely, that degrowth is bad, a lot of stagnationism that masks itself as caution and humility is actually a very anti-human force that needs to be directly opposed, but I also think there's a lot that it misses; namely, that the direction and order in which tech gets developed matters.

eg. I think brain computer interfaces are great and will be super important, but they are also risky: we're literally talking about reading + writing to our minds. To me it seems crucial that that stuff is as open-source as possible, favors local compute over phoning home... What is a16z doing to achieve that outcome?

I see crypto as being in part about being the sector of tech that tries to think not just about consumer utility, but also these big techno-political questions, preserving freedom and openness and ability for regular people around the world to participate and not just consume, etc.

There’s a quote that I think is from you, which I’ve been trying to find for a while, something to the affect that young people moved to SV thinking they were going to disrupt power, but it turned into a new kind of wall st. Crypto came from realizing that you have to go after something more fundamental/political.
