what are your biggest complaints about podcasts today? for me: 1. discovering new, high-quality episodes is tough (would love to increase signal to noise ratio) 2. connecting with likeminded listeners is sporadic (would love listener communities) 3. parasocial relationships with hosts feel flat (would love this to be bi-directional)

this might just be me but when I’m interested in someone I’ll search through spotify and listen to all of their pod interviews. lots of pods don’t think about the “second” interview - i.e. a lot of time spent is rehashing the same q’s + backstory that other pods have covered vs finding a new angle in.

not just you - i do that too :) my main problem with spotify is the feeling that they promote the biggest shows at the expense of smaller ones. i often find that their recommended shows just aren’t as interesting as the stuff i save on my own

thats unfortunate to hear, I've had artist that ive interviewed where I listened and read all their previous interviews and go for new angles or even ask follow ups if I think the original person didnt go through enough with the initial question.
