Reducing any mass, including unsprung, will improve performance. But the relative gain is pretty meaningless on a car this size. It’s just a flex on a Range Rover. But one that’s very expensive to replace if you curb the wheels!

Actually makes a ton of sense, cuz of less moment of inertia on the lighter wheels. If it's easier for the motor to spin everything (including transmission, driveshaft, main gear axles, and ofc wheels) then it's easier to move 2.5 ton car. Drifters install carbon drive shafts for the same reason

I bought a 3 ton electric SUV and it comes with these thin/flimsy floor mats. My other car is same brand but gas and the mats are thick and nice. Checked online - it’s a weight saving measure.
