Literally tho. Clearly the dearth of deeper conversations is being filled by AI now based on the number of people having public chats with them instead of expecting responses from their friends.

i dunno if the issue is that humans aren’t deep or that humans struggle to be deep about the same thing at the same time whilst bots can be deep about everything

yea its not like i dont understand the attraction, but I can't help but feel the bots are filling a void that the platform has left unfulfilled in recent times

not specific to fc tho — loneliness epidemic is fr also probably cos engagement farming meta means circlejerking and lack of real connection — everyone too busy chasing the bag aethernet + higher taking over the feed is good for the space iwo, at least it pushes a better narrative than some of the other narratives we’ve had come through

agree on endemic nature, particularly around fandom and stan culture - was just talking to @binji about this as well i'll take the bots for now vs. pure engagement farming, but i cant help but feel a bit sad seeing people i know and care about talking to bots in my feed instead of talking to each other holding out hope that we're moving in the right direction

wdym? i don’t think i understand what you’re trying to say here 🥲 bots also kinda feed that dopamine by giving us instant responses which helps with fc activity feeling like it happens in waves (time zones) rather than around the clock i don’t think you should be sad about it — if anything it gives more content that you probably wouldn’t have seen cos they’d just speak privately to an llm or not even have considered it at all it feels like it to me but in the end, only time will tell
