first-time macbook user thoughts (<1 week): - learning new hotkeys is hard work after being exclusively a windows-only user - changing caps lock to work as a command key was an elite suggestion (ty @sdv.eth) - removing dock hide delay was also an elite suggestion (ty again @sdv.eth) - i love that i can share my internet with my phone via usb (great for weak wi-fi areas where phone seems to drop in and out) - mission control, app expose and hot corners are actually awesome once you can accept a new way of navigating round your desktop space (not using the taskbar / alt tab like windows) - battery life is ACTUALLY insane, now i see why everyone wanders around with a macbook and no charger wants: - i want to be able to two-finger swipe back and forward on warpcast like i can on twitter and other websites - an equivalent of ninite for macOS - more power-user suggestions pls

homebrew is your ninite solution! brew.sh Yes it's cli but trust me in that it'll make you love the terminal!

i've been trying my best to use this for everything — i think my problem may actually lie in lack of knowledge for apps/programs in the ecosystem itself is there a good place for discovery? scrolling through the casks list is a bit of a chore

I've never had to do such a thing! My go to is: brew search (thing I'm looking for) 98% of the time it's a package that will come up in the results, to which you follow up with brew install package. Once you go through the things you know may exist and just want to install, then you'll naturally discover other apps from other people. If you're eager to discover more, you can probably do a GitHub search for repositories named dotfiles that contain a Brewfile, which is a simple text document that describes packages to install. Mine is kinda dated but here's an example! https://github.com/sdvim/dotfiles/blob/main/.config/homebrew/Brewfile
