datadog is just annoyingly good and too easy to get up and running compared to anything else.

Have you considered Grafana + Prometheus?

I'm a big fan of otel + axiom. Pricing means I can trace everything I need without worry about $$$.

If Datadog is so great, they should fix the bot problem on social media!!

Jk, big fan. Mostly using it for log collection currently which isn’t even their bread & butter. They have a lot of great features. Get a little crazy with their pricing but I get it
