Are memecoins good or bad? 

I think they sit somewhere in the triangle between buying pokemon cards and going to the casino and day trading. 

I don't personally don't do much of those things, but I understand the appeal and don't think we need to shame people who do it.

tough to say — I'm noticing this: 

memecoins are diverting early-career builders in crypto—especially on solana—away from meaningful software development. 

many of the profiles I come across are fixated on memecoin trading bots rather than honing their skills in building real products or contributing to engineering teams or open source projects.
