warpcast has a ton of differences to twitter. this is a private group messaging app. I can get that on telegram, here on warpcast, whatsapp, etc. the list goes on and on. What is special that makes XTMP stand out? I know why Warpcast stands out, but what XTMP over telegram, whatsapp, etc? never answered my question

Lots of good reasons: 1. XMTP is a protocol. So, many apps can use the same protocol, like how Farcaster works on Warpcast, Super, Buttrfly, Phaver etc. The other apps you mention don’t even allow messages to interoperate, let alone accounts to be portable from app to app. 2. XMTP connects to ethereum addresses meaning you can send and receive messages without a phone number or any KYC. It also can read onchain data so you could connect with Farcaster followers or Lens followers or holders of whatever NFT etc. 3. The cryptography used by the newest version of XMTP is superior to what’s used on the apps you mentioned, and Telegram is not even E2E encrypted by default.

sure, the main things are: - open source - ownership - security few more examples include - actually owning your messages across the XMTP network unlike a silo in a centralized entity, end to end encryption with MLS where there is still a backdoor in many apps , messaging native to onchain users with identities linked to ENS unlike a username in TG, perform onchain actions with natural language in a chat, open protocol with an SDK that allows devs to build agents that interact securely with users. Hope that helps.
