I think this is very relevant to me as a parent

I feel bad when I have to tell off my daughter when I repeat the same things for the millionth time

Parents, what are your strategies to keep calm and make your kid(s) listen?

I take a deep breath before I respond. My child has issues with processing so I also know it takes a minute to go from his ears to his brain. I make him look me in the eyes when I need to tell him something and if he's in the middle of a meltdown I just let him have it because when he's like that his brain isn't even online. But I also go the natural or related consequences route and make it clear that he's where he is from his own choices. At this point he tends to come up with his own punishments and decides to behave lol

It helps to kneel down to their level too. That can make all the difference to my son
But all kids are different and it takes trial and error to figure out what works for y'all

I'll try this next time. My problem is that I assume she will listen as I usually say the same things over and over again. If she just wants attention maybe that little bit of attention looking into her eyes was everything she just wanted.

The meltdown, we do the same and wait until it's over and tell her
