I think this is very relevant to me as a parent I feel bad when I have to tell off my daughter when I repeat the same things for the millionth time Parents, what are your strategies to keep calm and make your kid(s) listen?

I take a deep breath before I respond. My child has issues with processing so I also know it takes a minute to go from his ears to his brain. I make him look me in the eyes when I need to tell him something and if he's in the middle of a meltdown I just let him have it because when he's like that his brain isn't even online. But I also go the natural or related consequences route and make it clear that he's where he is from his own choices. At this point he tends to come up with his own punishments and decides to behave lol

I’m still learning but my demeanor is part of the message. Sometimes I have to act calmer than I am and if the kid is testing boundaries and crossing a line I might have to be mad or intense even if I’m exhausted

I’d say you can’t make kids listen. But there can be natural consequences to their behavior/choice to NOT listen. That’s the fun part of being a parent because we aren’t imposing something on them…they are choosing it. You can see their brains working when they realize what’s happening.
