Been on farcaster for a few days now. I’m wondering if the $degen incentives are a net positive for a community. Sure, it’s a great way to incentivize early engagement, but will it lead to quality content in the end? Or will it end up like ethtrader donuts?

I truly hope that this is the case. Social media is in dire need of a disruption.

I think it’s necessary at the onset to encourage the early crowd to power through to the mainstream wave. 🌊

like any new idea it most likely will fizzle out, or even gum things up.

but it's possible it makes something new possible. In the same way the bitcoin in 2009 was most likely to end up just being another open source project that fizzled out.
