I have mentioned /aztec on many occasions and now they are closing in on mainnet I do believe they will gate onboarding with some form of identity verification. A couple of existing tools that could be used 1) On chain KYC attestation, such as Kraken verify - already around 10K verified addresses https://inkonchain.com/verify 2) Direct deposit from a regulated exchange 3) Direct fiat onboarding via bank/cc - give a fee rebate to users 4) Throttle but allow the address already connected to CEX 5) existing on-chain KYC/POH platform like ZKpassport https://zkpassport.id/ Privacy and OSS are major pillars of Ethereum, and I am rooting for aztec

Why do you believe that? Pure gut feeling or comments somewhere?

pure gut feeling and recent EU policy changes echo my opinion. aztec has built something i see myself using quite frequently but most gov and policymakers will try to fight against it. They won't support pure anonymity, even cex will face regulation scrutiny if they continue to support aztec, look at how many cex are supporting XRM. A wrapper will continue to provide users with privacy but not anonymity.
