I didn't know about x402 when I gave this talk on open data last week at @usv x @neynar but this is a big boost forward. The world is inexorably moving from an era of closed data to an era of open data. With *or* without the permission of web2. The challengers will embrace openness and with protocols like x402, they will be able to monetize and enrich small scale data more easily. The monopolies will oppose openness, but as in the talk, that's a losing strategy in the medium+ term.
