and then ~800

looks like the purge effect is v strong

Better to have fewer, more engaged followers than lots of empty accounts or bots.

Growth Strategy:

Step 1: find interesting channels & starter packs (you can preview them using alt clients like @fiids before you commit to following anyone).

Step 2: reply to high quality content that you appreciate with thoughtful responses. Engage in meaningful conversation!

Step 3: only follow channels & individuals that you find yourself consistently engaging with, especially if in healthy contrarian ways, to keep improving your feed with highly curated content. (unfollow things that are drama bait for you)

This is how you get more followers that are likely to engage with your original content, not just doom scroll by. By being a good follower yourself! The engagement games and self promotion tricks don't make real relationships; it's purely transactional.

Engaging with others you find interesting makes you more interesting, which makes other ppl want to follow you. That's how deep connections are formed!
