but it's not that brand marketing doesn't have it's place; it does it's just knowing wen to use what

to recap, 

brand: one stop access to DeFi (1inch)

product: get best prices in DeFi for traders and dapps (paraswap)

Still feel sponsoring events isn't going to provide the ROI even for a late stage company.

Few projects can turn into brands. Bera is one of them, S-tier marketing :D

So yea, projects which sponsor events or organize their own, would need to work on retention and standing out, else it'll be not a lot of ROI

Maybe it doesn’t drive txns but it drives brand affinity turning more people into die-hard advocates? Berachain’s having a great run in Dubai atm.

I agree partly. I know that our team at @thirdweb decided to not dedicate any budget for events now/ future 

however I agree with what @karmentruong said-it might not increase traffic/conversion but it increases brand affinity-say that coz I have used Toku (crypto pay for teams); know them coz they sponsor @bankless
