Another cool (free) mint to celebrate the onchain ticketing movement is here: https://x.com/onopenxyz/status/1843645573796184452?t=oLq0QWB-Ldo3ZDnEcKBCBQ&s=19 Mint and repost on X for a chance to win a share of $500 in OPN

Very pleased about this. The payments flow has been a tricky barrier for some time now, but the guys at Inflow seem pretty confident about what they have put together.

Open Ticketing allows people to buy tickets with fiat money, just like they normally would. The blockchain part is done in the background

It checks off two of those boxes too: NFTs and DeFi. NFTs for post-event usecases, and DeFi for event financing

Haha I would know who to talk to to make it happen. OPN would basically become spendable on the site for hotels and flights. This creates a way for the token to get dumped, and it might even cost a fee. So the only upside is the promotional aspect.

And then the L3 would be designed as a hub where all parties in the ecosystem could interact easily. It would also give OPN more usage, as it would be the fuel for all transactions on the chain, not just ticket minting.

It is a pretty complex ecosystem with plenty of reasons for people to contact them. This site is a good place for an overview: learn.onopen.xyz Most of the discussion and presentation is about “onchain ticketing” instead of NFTs.

@openticketing.eth for event tickets. Their token, OPN, is integrated into the system so that clients buy it from the market and use it as fuel to issue tickets. For travel, Travala is a great app to use, but they diluted both their token (AVA) and their NFTs, so proceed with caution there.

...They have been very slow to develop their “digital passport stamp” feature, which is supposed to act like an Open digital ticket, serving as a souvenir and as a way to connect with users after the trip has taken place.

Yeah on the one hand, there is no need for Open to extend beyond what it can deliver with its current tools. On the other hand, the digital collectibles part could be a great fit. Travala (great web 2.5 travel app) cannot seem to get this part right...

A couple industries are making progress here. I can book a flight or hotel with crypto with a couple clicks. I can also buy an event ticket (with fiat) from one of @openticketing.eth's clients, and they are working on allowing onchain payments to be done in a similarly easy fashion.

Event ticketing and travel are promising. When done with a Web2.5 approach, these services can utilize blockchain while still allowing consumers to pay with fiat and interact with more familiar apps.

Very nice description of the collectibles. I am excited to see how this plays out. Might have to get my hands on some myself once the season starts!
