i think it’s masterful distraction strategy that we’re discussing immigrants in Ohio eating pets as some abstract definition of racism instead of focusing on the *actual* issues caused by an unchecked border (national security and debt, employment, healthcare), and i think we’re all foolish to be falling for it.

Unchecked border? Nani? National security and employment sure, to certain degrees, agreed. How does the border tie to debt and healthcare? I’m curious

This is in accurate. I work for a healthcare company that works with Medicare. We can’t see people without it and immigrants who didn’t cross the border through the “legal process” usually don’t have it because it requires the government to know who you are, have a record of you. Which puts them in a vulnerable position (deportation). There is a process we follow to verify eligibility so, no Medicare, no benefits.

i was wrong about federally funded programs, thanks for clarifying and providing more information and thanks for the work that you do in healthcare! i do believe california has expanded state-funded healthcare programs to undocumented immigrants, which comes from taxpayer $$ but will need to do more research.
