how... how does top-end newest beefiest macbook pro feel slower than my $500 thinkpad from 2022?

can't wait for my thinkpad to get out of service so that I can get the macbook back to where it belongs

but seriously: newly wiped macos, safari is slow, opening folders is slow, opening apps is slow, microfreezes EVERYWHERE

macos users, how do you even survive? or do you not notice all these micro-freezes just like ios users that have never used pixels before?

I have the inverse question: what specs on your thinkpad give you that performance?

I’ve ripped through XPS, Razers, and MSIs with chonky specs and never felt happy using them. They were never really portal laptops and full on rocket ships with their fans.

Went back to an M4 last year after years away from macOS and the difference is night and day.
