Humans are often unnecessarily cruel. It’s our nature.

if something is normalized it is not necessarily good or should stay the same way

may i remind you that less than 200 years ago slavery was normal and people claimed that being "unnecessarily cruel" is in human nature

however, people do tend towards less unnecessary cruelty over time as species

Sad fact is that there’s more enslaved people now than at any point before in human history.
