gm, why are you ok with eating crabs, lobsters and prawns but not ok with eating spiders, maggots, scorpions and insects?

still amazes me how people can say "let's kill more conscious beings" when it's unnecessary and be proud of it

i have no beef against lab meat

if it is more nutritional than plant based alternatives, cruelty-free and doesn't cause increased risk of cancer and premature death, i'm all up for lab grown meat

as for the millions

they'll eat whatever they have

if they won't have meat, they won't eat meat, just like it was traditionally

Also the same argument when the preference is to kill sentient beings vs eat lab made meat because 'it is just not natural' etc. 
Before you tell me the lab made meat is also unnecessary I know, but if we want to move millions off 'the real thing' then most will need a bridge.

if something is normalized it is not necessarily good or should stay the same way

may i remind you that less than 200 years ago slavery was normal and people claimed that being "unnecessarily cruel" is in human nature

however, people do tend towards less unnecessary cruelty over time as species
