my two cents and in-good-faith interpretation of "not enough interesting content": @dwr.eth DOES NOT mean that current users aren't interesting enough @dwr.eth DOES mean that there are not enough of us so that the supply of interesting content on warpcast simply cannot compete with the supply on other platforms

I know for a fact that heaps of artists left because they’d get next to no interaction on their casts. If FC wants artists to come back, they need to up their visibility. Artists are great users because they show up everyday and cast a lot of quality work.

Yeah I’ve been thinking about this too. Not saying this is ideal or the best scenario, but I’ve concluded that warpcast is primarily a text-based platform. as a result, i think artists (primarily image- or video-based) will always have a harder time here than on a platform that’s better designed for their media — same way that youtube or instagram was so much better for travel vloggers vs twitter. warpcast may have to significantly switch its design to cater to this, whereas rodeo or kiosk may be apps better suited for artists and art. again, not ideal for artists but I’m trying to think practically and realistically. what do you think?

I think Twitter has been a huge success for visual artists, and it started as a primarily text based platform. The issue with art here is: 1) image compression is brutal 2) most people can’t post videos (which I get for copyright issues from the team) 3) the engagement is poor for new users who get marked as spam too easily and then leave before they have a chance to “get it” There’s also a deeper cultural meta with the “free mints” that’s potentially devaluing art in a similar way that Instagram did, but that’s a longer discussion haha
