Trying to gauge where people are at with two questions:

To me, it’s about these two concepts: the filtration of information and the forging of knowlege over time. 

Rather than putting energy, time, and attention into notes we never look at again, investing that time & attention into notes that build on one another over time. 

I actually just migrated all of my notion and Apple notes into obsidian, a markdown editor that I’ve been using for a couple of years. It’s nice to know I don’t have to rely on a cloud system for my notes, since I can have a local, non-proprietary copy in md:

With google docs, I think it’s important to also create a backup locally. Never know if there a sync issue, could lose your notes

yeah that's totally fair! I think lots of people jump into new systems and get overwhelmed with complexity, so it's good you're aware of not wanting to do that

I think google is also introducing lots of AI tools (like notebookLM for example) that can directly connect to google drive/docs. you might find that interesting too:

yeah, i've heard about obsidian. the reason i haven't moved to obsidian, or notion, or any other tool out there is that i really don't want to complicate my process. so far google docs + sticky notes works great for me.

but i'll give your video a look for sure.
