CRDT's might be one of the absolute worst names for a really good thing. Trying to write something describing our CRDT-based system and struggling. No sentence flows when you add CRDT to it.

I know it's an over-simplification, but perhaps referring to it as " the double-spend problem"? aka double-spend avoidance mechanism
