I'm also not a supporter of "tip to zero" for it's own sake.

That's a little sad to hear, but I understand the sentiment.

I had launched the channel for /degenzero as a way of reminding myself to tip regularly, as I only really just liked posts or commented. Tipping wasn't top of mind for me. 

I still do it in that spirit, but can absolutely shut it down.

It's a good endeavor and worth encouraging ppl to tip regularly. Helps to keep it top of mind. But there's an order of operation to good tipping and "emptying allowance" is bottommost.

If people are tipping smartly, as an investment towards shared prosperity, great, then no problem whatsoever.
